This prevents the natural production of Melanin. Melanin is the pigment that causes skin darkening. Tretinoin might be effective but causes sunburn very easily, meaning that you are likely to damage your skin with the slightest sun exposure.
Hydroquinone also prevents the production of Melanin. Hydroquinone with a concentration of more than four percent will cause skin damage. You may also experience burning, stinging, or other irritation of your skin after apply the medication.
This is a depigmenting agent and destroys the Melanin-producing cells present on your skin. Known side effects are burning, irritation, redness, cracking, or peeling of the treated skin may occur.
4. Alpha Hydroxy Acids
These acids remove the top layer of your skin including the pigmentation. Alpha Hydroxy acids can only be used with the help of a physician.
This surgery works through the use of liquid nitrogen. It kills the skin cells including the melanin present on the surface of your skin. The process is effective but the risk to the long term health and look of your skin is very high. Avoid going down this route.
6. Laser Treatments
Pigmentation can be removed by laser, but the results are seldom 100%. The skin is often left with uneven tone and may become patchy.
My personal advice is to stay away from unnatural ways to lighten your skin, get rid of patchiness or remove freckles, and instead use something safe and kind to your skin like Skin Bright. This is one of a couple of creams I have used for nearly 2 years now, and I have never experienced any negative side effects – only whiter skin.
