Many people think that the skin colour you have is permanent and that you cannot learn how to get white skin. While there is a range within which you can change your complexion, making skin whiter is not something that is impossible, and there are various natural remedies and methods you can adopt to ensure that you have skin that is lighter than before. Here are my top 5 tips for whiter skin that you can start practicing today.
1. Sun Protection
This is the most important tip in ensuring your skin becomes whiter. The fact is that our skin gets naturally darker over time as it is exposed to various UV rays. Since the darkening of the skin is slow and gradual, we do not notice the change until it is quite pronounced. This does not mean you should stay out of the sun 247 (a certain amount of Vitamin D is necessary for the body too). It is just advisable to wear appropriate clothing and use a high factor sunscreen when stepping out in the sun. 2. Increase Vitamin C Intake
Vitamin C can help you maintain the collagen levels in your body. This is the basic support system that helps in ensuring that the skin stays supple and taut. Vitamin C intake can be increased by eating foods like citrus fruits, tomatoes, sweet peppers and others. Again this is covered extensively in my book.
3. Cucumber Face Mask
Cucumber juice, lemon, honey and milk make a great paste that can be applied on the face and hands every few days. These ingredients are great for restoring your skin’s glow and making your skin lighter.
4. Regular Face Washing
It is important to remove all the dirt and grime off your face before you sleep. The levels of pollution in the air are so high that you should actually make sure that you wash your face every time you step outside and come back in. A grubby face contributes to oily skin, which can make your skin look patchy and age faster .
5. Homemade Skin Whitening Solutions
One of the best homemade skin whitening solutions is to make a paste of oatmeal, yogurt and tomato juice and apply it to the skin for 20 minutes at a time. Once this homemade pack is dried on, you can wash it off with cold water. Don’t sleep with the paste on as you may experience temporary blotching.
